The Universal Exhibition Expo will be hosted in Milan from May 1 to October 31, 2015, holding the core theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. A platform for the exchange of ideas and shared solutions on the theme of food, stimulating each country’s creativity and promoting innovation for a sustainable future, Expo Milano 2015 will give everyone the opportunity to find out about, and taste, the world’s best dishes, while discovering the best of the agri-food and gastronomic traditions of each of the exhibitor countries.
This year’s exhibition hosts 145 countries and it is expected that the number of attracted visitors, during the six month period, will reach over 25 million, of which 15 million are expected to be Italian, 1 million French and 5 million visitors from the rest of the world. Given the importance of its theme, the Italian Government decided in 2011 to officially invite all member states of the United Nations and to open the doors of Expo Milano 2015 also to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and to companies as key stakeholders in the global debate on the challenges related to nutrition and food.
Expo Milano 2015 would like to be remembered not only for its architecture and activities, but also for its contribution to the debate of education on nutrition, food and resources worldwide.
