BIBLIA CHORA is the brainchild of two of Greece’s most high profile and successful winemakers, Vassilis Tsaktsarlis and Vangelis Gerovassiliou, two best friends and a natural team. In 2001 they invest in the project KTIMA BIBLIA CHORA, a certified organic producer with today 48-hectare private owned model organic vineyard near Kavala on 350 meter slopes of Mt. Pangeon. The dynamic partners wanted to concentrate the vineyard on the southern slopes which would yield the maximum fruit at the acidity level they were seeking for their boutique wines.
The area climate, warm summers with cool nights, influenced by the high altitude in the back of the winery, by the Mediterranean sea in the front, by the cool breezes from the Strymonic Gulf, are giving very importance to the fruity and high quality, as same as the very stony, flinty soil with loam and clay. The handcrafted wines perform exceptionally well at international competitions and command an epicurean audience.
